ANNUAL PARK APPRECIATION DAY
HELP LA MESA PLANT 200 TREES

La Mesa, CA… Make a difference today and for generations to come by helping plant 200 trees in Harry Griffin Park on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 8:00 AM to noon for the 14th Park Appreciation Day.

The public is invited to participate in this annual event that offers volunteers the opportunity to give back to their community and help beautify La Mesa. All ages, individuals and groups are welcome! Participants are encouraged to sign-up ahead of time at http://bit.ly/ParkAppreciation2019.

The event will kick-off with opening comments at 8:15 AM and a tree planting demonstration. Everyone will gather near the dog park at Harry Griffin Park located at 9550 Milden Street. Breakfast snacks and water will be provided by Sporting SD. All participants are asked to bring their own gloves, shovel and wear closed-toe shoes.

Funding for this project comes from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) Urban and Community Forestry Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) grant programs and supports the City’s Climate Action Plan, which creates a roadmap to cut communitywide emissions in half and plant 1,575 trees by 2035.
