LA MESA RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR VOLUNTEER POSITIONS ON CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
La Mesa, CA...Applications are now being accepted for volunteer positions on the City’s boards and commissions. The deadline for submission of applications is 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2019, in the City Clerk’s office at La Mesa City Hall, 8130 Allison Avenue. Applications may be obtained at City Hall or from the City of La Mesa website at cityoflamesa.us/250/Boards-Commissions.
The La Mesa City Council will be interviewing applicants for appointments to the City’s advisory boards and commissions at their meeting on June 11, 2019. A total of 22 vacancies will become available on the Community Relations and Veterans Commission, Community Services Commission, Design Review Board, Environmental Sustainability Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, La Mesa Community Parking Commission, Personnel Appeal Board, Planning Commission, and Youth Advisory Commission.
“The Mayor and City Councilmembers value the input from our community volunteers,” said Megan Wiegelman, City Clerk. “By serving as a member on one of the boards or commissions, residents have an opportunity to assist in the decisions that affect their neighborhoods and city.”
