In 2018, the City of La Mesa implemented our Climate Action Plan which includes a roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and divert food scrap and yard waste in our city.
With a goal of 75% Waste Diversion Goal by 2035, the residential curbside organic waste recycling launched on April 1, 2021 with the help of waste hauling partner, EDCO. In addition to participating in curbside organic recycling, La Mesa residents can do their part to help divert food scraps and organic waste by composting at home!
