Join us for the La Mesa Climate Action Plan Update Workshop on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6-8 PM at the Adult Enrichment Center to learn about the City’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) and provide feedback on measures and actions the City can implement to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions.
The City of La Mesa adopted the Climate Action Plan (CAP) in March 2018, affirming its commitment to environmental sustainability. The CAP establishes a long-range roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the categories of energy, transportation, solid waste, water, and green infrastructure. It guides which implementation activities the City prioritizes in order to mitigate the effects of climate change, supporting La Mesa's vision of a safe, healthy community. Visit the Climate Action Plan webpage for a more detailed overview of La Mesa's CAP.
As specified by the current Climate Action Plan adopted in 2018, the City will amend the CAP 5 years after adoption to adjust targets and re-evaluate priorities. A key component of the CAP update is community input. The City is seeking feedback from residents for measures on actions the City can implement to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions. To facilitate these discussions, the City is hosting a series of three workshops to provide a platform for residents to contribute ideas and feedback for future priorities and programming. The first CAP Update Workshop will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 6-8 PM at the Adult Enrichment Center.
