The commercial vacancy and available space search engine allows users to search for available retail, office, and industrial space in La Mesa by selecting specific search criteria. Users can search by building size, building type, size of available space, and whether the space is for sale or lease. Users can also print customized reports of their search results, including a map and aerial imagery showing where the property is located. La Mesa at a Glance
The City of La Mesa's economy is aided by its central location in San Diego County that allows residents close proximity to desirable retail and leisure destinations and provides businesses access to a quality workforce and key industry clusters such as retail, professional services, and healthcare. La Mesa's land use is primarily residential. Retail land use makes up the majority of the business base and consists primarily of neighborhood and power centers with quality anchor tenants and a mix of retail service businesses and restaurants. Grossmont Center is a retail shopping destination and is expected to experience significant redevelopment in the coming years. Class B and C office space is located throughout La Mesa in small commercial centers with Allied Plaza situated off the Interstate 8 freeway offering class A office space. Industrial zoned properties in the City make up less than 5% of the land use and are located just north of the downtown area along the Interstate 8 freeway between Spring St. and Jackson Dr.
