La Mesa Park & Recreation Foundation
The La Mesa Park and Recreation Foundation was established in 1999 to lead the fundraising efforts for the 23-acre sports complex located on the grounds of Parkway Middle School, now known as the Junior Seau Sports Complex. The Foundation itself granted more than $1 million towards this project. Subsequent projects include the construction of a teen center located in Highwood Park next to La Mesa Arts Academy, and most recently a beautiful Community Garden at MacArthur Park.
